Date: November 2014
Activity: PR and digital marketing campaign
Duration: 6 weeks
Key Outcomes: National recognition for their single released with the support of Help For Heroes to mark the centenary of the start of WWI.
Details of the Single
Having worked with Ooberfuse on a number of other campaigns, they came back to me ahead of the release of ‘Fall’ seeking further promotional support.
The single would be released on 9th November along with Help For Heroes and Strictly Come Dancing’s Chelsee Healey as a moving musical tribute to fallen war heroes.
‘Fall’ was inspired by the selfless sacrifice of millions of soldiers around the world and explores the emotional impact of the horror of war not just on front line soldiers but also on those left behind on the domestic front. This was depicted in the emotional music video.
During the PR Campaign
Bryn Parry, CEO and Co-Founder of Help For Heroes, says: “The money raised by ‘Fall’ will be used to provide practical and direct support for those who have become wounded, injured or sick in service. This year’s anniversary events for WW1 and D-Day remind us how important this is and the shared respect between the veterans of all generations.”
The released received huge support from blogs including So So Gay, ElectRow, Cross Rhythms, A Little Taste of Miss Ruby, Music Existence, and Music Crowns which generated enthusiastic engagement on social media.
Furthermore, veterans and armed forced organisations also offered their support including The Band of the Army Air Corps, UK Veterans, NWW Fallen Heroes, and even the Royal Air Force themselves.
