« Back to Glossary Index

Website architecture or site structure refers to the system that manages and delivers the content you have on your website. It is the hierarchical structure of your website pages and the technical considerations or backbone of your website that allows search engine bots to crawl the website.

You can organise your site structure through internal links and parent pages. Good architecture should help users find the information they need and help search engines understand the relationship between each of the different pages.

In general, a good site structure is seen as one that organises topically related content together and emphasises your most important pages. Simple is usually better, and try to arrange your websites logically and hierarchically.
