Operated by Microsoft, Bing is the second-largest search engine in the US, UK, and many other English-speaking countries. It is also the default search engine on most Microsoft and Android devices.

While it works predominantly the same for users, there are some differences in the way SEOs can optimise for Bing vs Google. For example, while Google studies the keyword context and the keywords themselves, Bing focuses more on the precise keywords.

Search engines crawl the internet using bots, and Bingbot is the name of Bing’s crawler for indexing in the Bing search engine. It works in essentially the same way that Googlebot does for Google.

You can use Bing Webmaster Tools to test pages using Bingbot for crawl errors, get data about Bingbot’s performance on your website, and control the speed and timing that Bingbot crawls your website.
