Conversion rate optimisation (CRO) is the process of improving the overall percentage of conversions from a website or mobile app. CRO usually incorporates ideas to enhance and validate specific hypotheses through A/B testing and other methods.

CRO is necessary because it allows businesses to lower their cost per customer acquisition (CPA) by obtaining more value from visitors and users already coming to the website.

By optimising your conversion rate, you can hopefully increase the amount of revenue spent per visitor, acquire more customers, and ultimately grow your business.

Measuring CRO

The conversion metrics will depend on the type of business you’re in and your goals. For instance, eCommerce businesses will likely measure by purchases and sales, whereas service-based businesses will likely measure success by the number of leads collected.

Conversion rate optimisation should be a constant process of improvement.
